history Discussion 1 Everyone has a culture There is a general belief amongst Americans that they do not have any cultural background for the simple reason that they were born in United States only and not in some other country. Or they feel that since they speak the same language, there is no difference in culture. Nothing can be farther than true. When one travels outside the country, it is understood that one would come across people from different background that speak different language, eat different kind of food, dress up in a different way and have customs and rituals of their own. Culture is a set of traditions, beliefs, values and norms or standards of behavior. These are passed down from one generation to other generation and become a way of life become a tradition. It includes the way we talk, our manners, customs and traditions, the kind of courtesy we extend to people and so on.
